about

2021 was an unusual year for us all, with lots of changes, and endings. The music here was recorded during a summer of relative freedom from restrictions, although self imposed restrictions still applied. It marked a perceived ending to one of the phases of COVID, but as it turned out, was short lived before the next wave. These tracks, whilst undeniably Yellow6 in style, use some different sounds from other releases, with a mix of clean and dirty guitar sounds, not directly in a quiet/loud sense, but more texturally.

There is no special intent to create any specific mood or feeling - this is what i was inspired to play at that time. And in that, is the continuous thread through my music over more than 20 years - my feelings and emotions in musical form. Not sure what that says about me, but i won’t think too deeply about that.

Played, recorded and mastered by Jon Attwood June-September 2021.

Thanks to Cat, Sky, Jools.
Special thanks to Adam.

Yellow6 is the solo project of British guitarist Jon Attwood. Yellow6 has at times been described as post-rock, minimalist, electronica, ambient… the reality is that Yellow6 has some similarity with each of those genres but is not so easily definable, using aspects of drone, repetition, melody, harmony, noise and silence to create absorbing soundscapes to drift off into.
