Yellow6 is the long running solo project of Jon Attwood from Leicestershire, UK. After early beginnings in the early 80s london punk and post punk scenes, and various projects into the 90s, the post rock and space rock of the late 90s made a big impact leading to Jon experimenting with solo guitar recordings, and eventually using multiple loops to create drifting soundscapes.
The album “for the first and last” was recorded at the beginning of 2021 and takes inspiration from changing times whilst reflecting on times past, hope and hopes dashed. Wanting to return to normal life, but a different and better normal.
The music is, as ever, focussed round multiple layers of intertwining guitars, but with a greater emphasis on rhythm than in recent releases.
